Date of publication and entry into force: 3 November 2019 (updated 21 October 2026)
This Privacy Policy explains how iMe Lab FZCO ("iMe", "we", "us", or "our") processes personal data when you use the iMe apps for mobile devices and computers (the "Apps"), the websites imem.app and imem.me (the "Website"), the Telegram bots operated by iMe that provide our services, such as @iMe_ai_bot, @iMe_premium_bot, and @iMe_support_bot, and the service bots the Apps use (the "iMe Bots"), and iMe Premium, AI Credits, and the other services described in the iMe Terms of Service (together, the "Services").
What this policy does not cover.
- Telegram. iMe is an independent, unofficial Telegram client. Your Telegram account, your messages, contacts, and calls, and everything else you do on Telegram are processed by Telegram under the Telegram Privacy Policy. This policy covers only what iMe does.
- iMe Ads, iMe Wallet, and iMe Shop. These are separate services. What happens inside them is described in their own privacy policies. The advertising you see in the Apps, including advertising sold through iMe Ads, and the data the Apps send when you open these products are described here.
In short:
- iMe receives the content of your chats only when you use a feature that needs it, such as AI Features or To-Do.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI providers do not use it to train theirs either.

3. Telegram and iMe: who processes what
3.1. The Apps connect to Telegram's servers. Your messages, media, contacts, and calls are stored and processed by Telegram, and the App processes them on your device to show them to you.
3.2. iMe does not receive your phone number, your Telegram login code, or your card details. iMe does not receive the content of your chats, except when you use a feature that sends content to iMe as described in Section 4 — for example AI Features or To-Do.
3.3. Telegram may show sponsored messages in the Apps. These are Telegram's advertising: Telegram selects and shows them.
4. Data we process and why
4.1. Connecting to iMe and iMe Bots
4.1.1. To provide features that work through iMe's servers, the App automatically connects your Telegram account to iMe, and we link your subscription, AI Credits, rewards, and settings to your Telegram ID — the permanent numeric identifier that Telegram assigns to every account. So that you can use these features and receive iMe news, the App exchanges service messages with iMe Bots from your Telegram account.
4.1.2. When you interact with an iMe Bot, Telegram provides it with your Telegram ID, username, first and last name, language, and whether you have Telegram Premium. The bot also receives the commands and messages you send to it.
4.1.3. We may also collect profile data from your Telegram account, such as your username, name, and Telegram Premium status (including when it expires, where it was bought, and whether it renews), and your device's time zone, to provide and improve the Services and other iMe services, for analytics, and to personalize our offers.
Why: to provide the Services (contract); to improve them and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
4.2. Device and request data
4.2.1. Requests from the App to iMe's servers include technical data, such as a device or installation identifier, the operating system version and App version, the interface language, the country derived from your phone number on your device (the number itself is not sent), and your iMe service token. Our servers and our infrastructure providers also see your IP address. The App may send some of this data with requests to third-party services it uses, such as translation and GIF services.
4.2.2. Some requests are protected by app attestation services of Apple and Google, which confirm to us that a request comes from a genuine App.
4.2.3. Some versions of the App connect to Telegram through proxy servers operated by iMe. These servers process your IP address and Telegram ID to provide the connection and protect it from abuse.
Why: to operate and secure the Services and prevent fraud (contract; legitimate interests); to show content in your language and region (contract); to let advertisers choose the language, country, and platform of their audience (Section 4.4).
4.3. Analytics, crash reports, and diagnostics
4.3.1. We use Google Analytics for Firebase, including through pages of our Website used inside the Apps, to understand how the Apps are used. The App sends events such as screens opened, features used, buttons tapped, and errors, and attributes such as your subscription status, whether you have Telegram Premium, language, theme, number of accounts, how you installed the App, and statistics of advertising shown to you. Events may also include a device identifier and text you type into the mini app search. These events are linked to your Telegram ID.
4.3.2. Crash and error reports are sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google) and to error-monitoring tools that we host on our own infrastructure. They are linked to your Telegram ID and may include technical details of the failed operation.
4.3.3. The App may periodically send us connection diagnostics: the state of the network and of the Telegram connection, errors, and whether a VPN is enabled on the device — only yes or no, without the name of the service. This helps us understand why a connection fails. If our servers cannot be reached, and sometimes to check this channel, the App may send this information to an iMe Bot as a service message from your Telegram account.
Why: to understand how the Apps are used, fix errors, and keep the Services working (legitimate interests).
4.4. Advertising
4.4.1. If you do not have iMe Premium, the Apps show advertising from iMe's own advertising platform, iMe Ads, and from third-party advertising networks.
4.4.2. Advertising by iMe. The App requests advertisements from iMe and reports when they are loaded, shown, and tapped. These records are linked to your Telegram ID and include the data in Section 4.2, the placement, the channel or chat where an advertisement is shown, your advertising identifier where available, and device characteristics used to select and verify advertising. We use them to deliver and select advertising, measure its performance, calculate the amounts payable by advertisers, and detect fraud and abuse. To load advertisements faster, the App may download an advertisement and its link before you tap it.
4.4.3. Who sees which advertising. Advertisers choose their audience by language, country, platform, and other criteria, such as whether a user has Telegram Premium or has connected iMe Wallet. An advertiser may also show advertising only to, or exclude from it, people on a list of Telegram IDs that the advertiser provides, or people who interacted with its advertisements earlier. We may also use information about your activity in the Apps, such as the public channels you view and the advertising you see or interact with, to choose more relevant advertising and to improve iMe Ads. Advertisers see only the size of their audiences, not who is in them. Ad delivery is performed automatically, based on campaign settings and system logic, without producing legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4.4.4. What advertisers learn. From iMe, advertisers receive statistics about their campaigns, without your name or Telegram ID. When you tap an advertisement for a channel, group, bot, mini app, or website, it learns about you as if you had opened it yourself. If the advertiser uses conversion tracking, the link includes a click identifier that lets the advertiser link your tap to what you do next and report that action to iMe, such as a sign-up or a purchase. Advertisers may also use iMe Ads conversion tools: a code on their website, which may store a cookie in your browser, or our bot in their channel or group, which tells iMe that you joined it after you saw or tapped their advertisement. If the App loads an advertisement in advance (Section 4.4.2), the advertiser's website may see your IP address even if you do not tap the advertisement.
4.4.5. Third-party advertising. We use advertising mediation services and advertising networks — for example, CAS, AppLovin, Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Yandex, Mintegral, Pangle, Adsgram, and Adexium. The partners we use may change. Their software in the App collects your advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with advertisements, and the App may pass them an identifier of your account. Each partner processes data under its own privacy policy.
Why: to show advertising that funds the free Services (legitimate interests); personalized advertising, advertising identifiers, and interest-based advertising (your consent where the law requires it); to measure and bill advertising and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
4.5. AI Features
4.5.1. AI Features run on iMe's servers and on the systems of third-party AI model providers, for example OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI, DeepSeek, Alibaba Cloud, Groq, and Perplexity, directly or through OpenRouter. The providers we use may change. The App sends content only when you use a feature — for example, the messages you ask to summarize, with their authors' names and identifiers and the chat's details, so that the summary can show who said what; the audio of a voice message you convert to text; an image you analyze; or the text you convert to speech. Messages you send to @iMe_ai_bot reach it through Telegram.
4.5.2. Content you process with AI Features may include personal data of other people, such as the authors of the messages you summarize.
4.5.3. We do not use your content, or other data we receive through Telegram, to train, fine-tune, or evaluate AI models, and we do not build datasets from it. Our AI model providers process content on our behalf and do not use it to train their models. We keep it only for as long as needed to provide the feature, keep the Services secure, and meet our legal obligations. Chats with @iMe_ai_bot are stored by Telegram like any other chat. Our servers also keep your conversations with the assistant so that it can continue them, and delete them after a long period of inactivity or when you ask us to.
4.5.4. We record your use of AI Features and your AI Credit balance, linked to your Telegram ID.
Why: to provide the feature you request (contract).
4.6. Translation
When you translate text, the App sends it to Google's translation service. If you turn on automatic translation of a chat, the App sends the incoming messages of that chat for translation until you turn it off. Google's translation service does not receive your Telegram ID.
Why: to provide the translation you request (contract).
4.7. Purchases and rewards
4.7.1. When you buy iMe Premium or AI Credits, we receive the information needed to confirm and manage the purchase from the App Store, Google Play, or the payment provider used in our bot, such as the product, transaction identifiers, period, and status. Payments in our bots are processed by Telegram (for Telegram Stars) or by our payment providers, such as Stripe and YooKassa. We do not receive your card details.
4.7.2. When you gift iMe Premium, we receive the recipient's Telegram ID and use it to deliver the gift and keep a record of it.
4.7.3. Your iMe Premium status may be visible to other users of the Apps, for example through the profile mark, which is on by default and can be turned off in your profile settings. For this, the Apps check the iMe Premium status of profiles and chats their users open.
4.7.4. For rewards, daily check-ins, and the referral program, we record your tasks, progress, the advertising you watched to earn a reward, the invite link or code you used, and the users who joined through your link. To check whether the App was installed through an invite, our server records your IP address and device characteristics when you open an invite link and when you first launch the App.
Why: to provide purchases and rewards (contract); to prevent fraud and abuse of rewards (legitimate interests); to keep accounting records (legal obligation).
4.8. Sync, To-Do, and notifications
4.8.1. If you use synchronization, we store your iMe settings on our servers, such as the IDs of chats you hide or group, your bookmarks, message filters, and tabs, so that they are available on all your devices. Synchronization does not store message texts.
4.8.2. If you use To-Do, we store your tasks and folders, including the text of a message when you create a task from it. If you share a folder, people who add it through your link will see its tasks. If you dictate a task, the audio is sent to an AI model provider to convert it to text (see Section 4.5).
4.8.3. To send you notifications about iMe, we store the push token of your device. We send service notifications, such as reminders and the status of your subscription, and news and offers. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
Why: to provide these features (contract); service notifications and news (legitimate interests or, where required, consent).
4.9. Third-party content
When you use GIFs, maps, and similar content in the Apps, the App sends the provider the data needed to show it, such as your search query and device information.
4.10. Opening iMe Wallet, iMe Ads, and iMe Shop
4.10.1. The App opens these products through Telegram, which passes them your basic profile data, as it does for any mini app. The App may add a label showing where you opened them from. iMe Wallet, iMe Ads, and iMe Shop are our own products, so the App opens them directly, without the confirmation Telegram shows before launching third-party mini apps. They may read text from your clipboard — only for a few seconds after you tap something in them — request advertising, and request your Telegram Stars balance.
4.10.2. When you start buying Telegram Premium or Telegram Stars in the App, the App sends us your Telegram username or the recipient's, the product, the amount or period, and whether it is a gift, together with the data in Section 4.2, and opens iMe Shop. The purchase in iMe Shop is governed by the iMe Shop Terms of Service.
4.11. Support
When you contact us, we process your messages and the information you provide, to help you and improve the Services (contract; legitimate interests).
4.12. Device permissions
The Apps ask for permissions such as camera, microphone, photos, contacts, and location for Telegram features; that data is processed on your device and by Telegram. The Apps may also ask for permission to track you across apps for advertising (on iOS) and to access your calendar if an advertisement offers to add an event and you agree.
4.13. Website and cookies
4.13.1. Server logs. When you visit the Website, our servers log your IP address, approximate country, the page and the referring page, your browser's language and user agent, and other technical parameters. The Website is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes the same data to deliver and protect it.
4.13.2. Cookies and similar technologies.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| consent | iMe | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months | Strictly necessary |
| lang | iMe | Remembers the language you chose | 12 months | Functional |
| analytics-referrer (session storage) | iMe | Keeps the page you came from when we redirect you to your language | Until you close the tab | Analytics |
| _ga, _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Distinguish visitors and sessions | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
4.13.3. Analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the Website is used: which pages and sections are viewed, which links are clicked, language changes, browser and device type, and approximate location.
4.13.4. Your choice. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and when we cannot determine your country, analytics runs only after you click "Allow" in the cookie banner. Elsewhere, it runs when you visit, and the banner informs you about it. To change your choice, use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page or delete the cookies in your browser.
Why: to operate and secure the Website (legitimate interests); analytics (consent in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland; legitimate interests elsewhere, where the law allows it).
4.14. Where data comes from
We obtain personal data from you and your device through the Apps, the Website, and the iMe Bots; from Telegram, through its platform and API; from app stores and payment providers; from advertisers using iMe Ads, such as lists of Telegram IDs and reports of actions after a tap; and from AI model providers, as the results of AI Features.
5. Legal bases
5.1. Depending on where you live, we rely on the following legal bases.
| Purpose | Legal basis (EEA, UK) |
|---|---|
| Providing the Services you use: connection to iMe, AI Features, translation, sync, To-Do, purchases, rewards | Performance of a contract |
| Personal data of other people: authors of messages you process with AI Features or translation, gift recipients, profiles whose iMe Premium status the Apps check | Legitimate interests: providing the features users request |
| Analytics, crash reports, diagnostics, security, and fraud prevention | Legitimate interests: improving the Services and keeping them secure and working |
| Non-personalized advertising and its measurement | Legitimate interests: funding the free Services |
| Personalized and interest-based advertising, advertising identifiers | Consent, where the law requires it |
| Accounting, tax, and responding to authorities | Legal obligation |
5.2. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to the processing. You can always object to processing for direct marketing, including profiling for advertising.
5.3. Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, we process data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, or our legal obligations.
6. Your choices
6.1. Advertising. Where the law requires, the App asks for your consent to use data for advertising. On iOS, the App also asks for permission to track you across apps. You can withdraw that permission and reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized advertising. iMe Premium turns off advertising shown by iMe. It does not turn off Telegram's sponsored messages or promotions that channels, bots, or mini apps publish themselves.
6.2. Translation. You can turn off automatic translation in the chat where you turned it on.
6.3. Sync and notifications. You can turn off synchronization in the App and notifications in your device settings.
6.4. Website cookies — see Section 4.13.
7. Who we share data with
We share personal data only as described in this policy:
- Telegram — when the App interacts with Telegram and iMe Bots;
- service providers that process data for us under contract — hosting and infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare; Google (Firebase); AI model providers; and search services that AI Features use to look up information online, such as Brave;
- independent partners that receive data in connection with features you use and process it under their own policies — advertising mediation services and networks; Google, for translation; GIF and map providers; Apple, Google, and payment providers, such as Stripe and YooKassa, for purchases;
- advertisers, to the extent described in Section 4.4;
- other users, to the extent described in Section 4.7.3;
- competent authorities, courts, and professional advisers, where required by law or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;
- a buyer or successor in a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, under this policy.
We do not sell personal data. We require our service providers to protect personal data to a standard at least equivalent to this policy.
8. International transfers
Our servers and our partners are located in different countries, including the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the European Union, Russia, China, and others, whose data protection laws may differ from yours. When we transfer personal data from the EEA or the UK to a country without an adequacy decision, we use safeguards permitted by law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards under Section 1. When we transfer personal data from the United Arab Emirates, we do so as permitted by the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.
9. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the Services; to keep purchase and payment records, handle refunds and disputes, and meet our legal obligations, including statutory retention periods for accounting records; and to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents. After that, we delete or anonymize the data. We also delete data linked to a feature or an iMe Bot when we stop offering it, unless we must keep it by law or you have agreed that we keep it.
10. Your rights
10.1. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data and receive a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing before the withdrawal), and lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, including the authority in your country of residence or place of work, or where the alleged infringement took place.
10.2. To exercise these rights, contact us under Section 1. To delete your iMe data, message @iMeMessenger from the Telegram account whose data you want deleted, or email support@imem.app. We accept deletion requests from all users, wherever they live. If you write to us by email, we may ask you to confirm the request from the Telegram account it concerns. We respond within one month; for complex requests, we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you if we do. We may refuse or limit a request where the law allows, for example where we must keep data to meet tax or accounting requirements.
10.3. Deleting your iMe data does not delete your Telegram account. Deleting your Telegram account or the App does not by itself delete the data we hold: it is kept for the periods described in Section 9, and you can ask us to delete it earlier. A subscription has to be canceled separately. When your iMe data is deleted, unused AI Credits and any remaining period of iMe Premium are lost (see the Terms of Service).
10.4. If you are in the United Kingdom, you can complain to us first under Section 1, and we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days.
11. Children
The Services are not intended for children under 13, or under 18 in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Australia (see the Terms of Service). If we learn that we hold personal data of a person below these ages, we will delete it unless we must keep it by law.
12. Security
12.1. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure. No method of storage, transmission, or processing is completely secure.
12.2. Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you, and we will notify the competent supervisory authority where applicable law requires.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The updated version is published on the Website with a new date. We will tell you about material changes before they take effect, in the App, through an iMe Bot, or on the Website, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
